Network:
No one else in the hosting industry for either shared
or dedicated server hosting provides a 100% Cisco
GIGABIT network. Every part of our network, from
your web server all the way to our backbone providers,
support gigabit throughput. This may seem like overkill,
but we know that broadband access for everyone is
around the corner. If you're hosting with MaximumASP,
you'll be ready. Of course, all of the space and
bandwidth in the world is useless if your web server
can't keep up. That's why we use only the latest
Intel P3-1GHz dual-processor servers from Dell,
with gigabit network cards, at least 1GB of memory,
and a 10,000RPM SCSI RAID V disk array that flys.
And with your own dedicated minimum processor time,
memory, and bandwidth, you know your application
will always have the horsepower it needs.
Bandwidth:
MaximumASP utilizes a scalable, redundant "bandwidth-on-demand"
solution. Depending on network traffic and nationwide
bottleneck status, our web server traffic is routed
down one or more of four DS3 circuits - capable
of up to 180Mbps total throughput. These circuits
are provided by MCI/UUnet, Sprint, and AT&T. You
are literally hosting your web application on a
zero-hop Internet backbone. Our bandwidth allocation
is on-demand, allowing us to always have the necessary
bandwidth available for your web site. MaximumASP
uses only Cisco routing and switching equipment.
Every server is fed into dual Catalyst 2900 high
speed switches that channel all server traffic into
two Cisco 12000 series routers, using BGP4 routing
protocol for complete redundancy. If one router
should have an equipment failure, the other one
picks up the traffic. This lowers the possibility
of network downtime due to an equipment failure.

Security:
All access to the data center as well as access
to each individual server, both physically and over
our internal network, is monitored and logged at
all times. The data center is staffed and guarded
at all times. In order to gain entry to the data
center, one must pass a number of security precautions,
including an armed security guard, a magnetic card
reader, a personal access code, and a biometric
palm scanner. If any of these fail, or if the individual
is attempting access at any time other than when
they are permitted by the system, access is denied.
Reliability:
99.93% uptime and triple-redundant backups You web
site being available 24x7xForever and being fully
recoverable is a necessity, yet most hosting companies
view this as a luxury you should pay extra for.
Verio will charge you an extra $100 a month just
to back up your database! All of our servers have
dual redundant power supplies, dual load-balanced
network cards plugged into different routers going
into different backbones, and RAID V SCSI drive
arrays. This means that your server could lose a
power supply, a network card, two hard drives, a
router and two backbone providers at the same time
and your web server would not go down. In the event
of a catastrophic server failure, all of your web
server AND SQL Server data is backed up near-time
to an external SCSI drive array, which is in turn
backed up daily to DLT tape and stored off-site.
We guarantee your server will stay up short of an
Act of God, and in that event, your data will be
restored to a new server with minimal downtime,
often in less than an hour. Power Backup Your site
will be fully redundant. We are connected to a 750KVa
diesel generator for long-term fail-over in the
event of a power failure. Additionally, we are located
on two diverse power grids within the city. Should
we have a city-wide power grid failure, the second
grid will cycle within a matter of minutes. Each
rack of web servers is connected to two separate
UPS systems, each designed to maintain a consistent
level of amperage until the diesel generator takes
over. All power redundancies in place are immediate
in a failover situation and require no human intervention
to become active. For example, no one has to turn
on the diesel generator. It works in unison with
the UPS system, monitoring the power situation and
cycling automatically.
